The I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2024 lineup has been “revealed” and betting apps are already speculating about which campmates are going to clash heads, who’s most likely to quit early, and who might make a surprise appearance on the 24th series of the show.
Whilst the programme is known for usually causing a stir (previously signing up two controversial politicians: former health secretary Matt Hancock in 2022 and Reform Leader Nigel Farage in 2023, which led to a downturn in ratings…), there is yet to be a particularly contentious campmate signed up.
However, according to betting sites, a live ‘Wagatha Christie’ showdown could be on the cards, with Coleen Rooney already reported to be entering the jungle as one of the first 12 campmates – and bookies believe that Rebecca Vardy could be a surprise late entrance. 10/1.
So, what do we have in store for us on our screens this winter? The odds are in…
I’m a Celebrity 2024: Which campmate will be nominated for the first Bushtucker trial?
Does Grace need Saving already?
Whilst GK Barry may be popular amongst the Gen Z audience, the podcaster has already landed herself in hot water just weeks ahead of the show launch. It’s reported that ITV is in “crisis talks” as the podcast host faces immense backlash for interviewing the OnlyFans Creator, Bonnie Blue on her ‘Saving Grace‘ podcast.
It’s seems that the public aren’t happy with her giving a spotlight to and offering “harmful words of support” for the model. So, it’s not shocking to see Grace at the top of betting sites for facing the first Bushtucker trial – 11/8.
Coleen Rooney takes to the stage (again)
Also likely to take on the first Bushtucker trial of 2024 is arguably the most famous face on this year’s lineup, Coleen Rooney, at 7/4. It’s been said that ITV bosses hope Coleen will be sharing her side of the story about her infamous rivalry with Rebekah Vardy.
McFlying through to the finish line
As always with I’m A Celebrity, voting is often a popularity contest. So, it’s no surprise to see McFly’s Danny Jones as favourite to win and towards the top of betting sites predictions (2/1) for the campmate most likely to take on the first Bushtucker challenge.
Fearful Melvin to take on the first trial?
On the other hand, if there’s one thing we know about the British public: we like to see people get punished. Melvin Odoom 3/1 has already let slip that he thinks he’ll be “too scared” to enter the jungle. So, naturally, he’ll probably become a regular at this year’s Bushtucker trials…
I’m A Celebrity 2024: Which campmate will be the first to quit?
Will Jane Moore let Loose early?
Top of the betting sites as the most likely to quit the show early is Loose Women panellist and The Sun columnist, Jane Moore at 8/15. Whilst the star has had much backing from her fellow castmates and friends, it seems that the public thinks she doesn’t have what it takes to face the trials and tribulations of Down Under.
Melvin admits fear
Also unlikely to play the long game is Melvin Odoom at Evens. His presence on the (unconfirmed) lineup has raised some eyebrows so far after it was reported that the Radio host turned down an offer to come on the show in 2021. He said he’d be “too scared” to go into the jungle and doesn’t think he “can hack it.” Well, neither does the public, Melvin.
Too much for the youngsters
There also doesn’t seem to be much hope for the younger campmates on this year’s lineup, with GK Barry (2/1) and Dean McCullough (10/1) both being predicted as likely to drop out early. Perhaps youth is not on their side?
Battle of the strong personalities
Towards the bottom of the table, we have the feisty Love Island star, Maura Higgins at 16/1, boxing legend Barry McGuigan at 18/1 and X Factor judge and N-Dubz star, Tulisa at 20/1.
All three of the celebrities have been known for their confident and outspoken ways, which makes them unlikely candidates for calling it quits. With Tulisa’s nickname of the “female boss,” it appears she’s coming back into the public eye with a point to prove. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on the boxing star, McGuigan – he previously mocked Amir Khan for failing a grim Bushtucker trial back in 2017. Only time will tell how Barry lives up to his words…
No quitting for one half of Wagatha Christie
Most unlikely to quit the show is WAG, Coleen Rooney at 25/1. It’s understood that the media personality is being paid even more than Nigel Farage’s whopping £1.5 million last year, making her the most expensive campmate to date. So, it’s easy to see why it’s not likely that Coleen will bail early…
I’m a Celebrity 2024: Which celebrities will be a surprise late entrance into camp?
Strictly Speaking…
As always, ITV bosses are hoping that campmates ‘spill the tea’ on pop culture rumours that have been doing the rounds this year. So, it’s no surprise to see media Star, Zara McDermott making a late appearance this season – 11/4.
The influencer, best known for being on E4’s Made In Chelsea, made headlines this summer after breaking silence about her experience with professional dancing partner, Graziano Di Prima on Strictly Come Dancing last year.
McDermott’s appearance on the show would also make for an interesting attempt to follow in her boyfriend’s footsteps – Sam Thompson, who took the King of the Jungle Crown last year.
Also rumoured to be entering the jungle as a latecomer is professional dancer and ex-Strictly star, Giovanni Pernice at 11/2. The dancer was axed from the show this year following the biggest scandal in the show’s history. But, there are two sides to every story. Might Pernice be planning on entering the camp to clear his name? Many betting sites think so.
A live Wagatha Christie showdown?
Also in the rumour mill is media personality, Rebekah Vardy. Fans are saying it’d be the ultimate TV showdown if Vardy were to enter camp as a surprise for her famous rival, Coleen Rooney.
But whilst it would indeed bring the controversy that the UK public so loves to see, it’s looking highly unlikely that a Wagatha Christie 2.0 is on the cards, with the odds at 10/1.
Fury steps out of the ring
Falling down the ranks is boxer and Love Island star, Tommy Fury 12/1. Whilst many betting sites previously had Fury as a highly likely contender in the original 12 campmate lineup, The Sun reported that McFly’s Danny Jones was brought in to replace him after Fury dropped out.
It’s also rumoured that Tommy’s departure paved the way for ex-fling and Love Islander, Maura Higgins to come onto the show – as there wouldn’t be space for the two of them in camp.
Only time will tell if the public’s predictions are correct. One thing we know for sure: we can’t wait to hear those jungle drums…
The line-up has been reported by The Sun, but ITV has not yet confirmed the official contestants for this year’s series.
